These are great tips. My psychology teacher from 12th grade was the best teacher I've ever had, but she did make it a point to become close to some students. She and I still talk via email from time to time; and I took my son to meet her shortly after I had him, about a year and half after I graduated. She's had plenty of years of experience teaching though, so I guess getting close to students comes after a few years. :)

Excellent points made. We either ante up now with more nutritious food, or later in rising health care costs. Not to mention having healthier and happier kids! For some children, the school lunch is their main meal of the day - how sad.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I just found it today. When I go to the "Manage" section the comments aren't showing up. Today, I just happened to go into the "Comments" section and found some. Live and learn...

Thanks again for your comment - it really helps to motivate when I know people are enjoying my blogs.

@cindy I definately think you should check out the lunch room at your sons school. If it is the norm, packing his lunch is the best thing!

That's great! I think a lot of parents don't really think about it. I usually see interest from educators and students, but oddly, not parents. It makes me happy that you are interesed in the education platforms of the presidential candidates!

Robin--

Healthy school lunches should definitely be made a priority! I believe that I will be making my son's lunches and sending them with him to school next year. I cannot believe that I was spending $2 for a slice of pizza, a piece of fruit, and a half pint of milk in H.S. just 6 years ago.

Robin--

I am really hoping that education will play a major role in the campaign this time around. I say this because this time next year my child will be going to Kindergarten, and it's very important to me. The educational issue is one that I am definitely paying attention to!

Hehe and see...I actually need help with them still :) I make my sentences "sound" right but have no idea (that's only a bit of an exageration) what the word parts are. Good thing I didn't teach English, yes?

OMG!!! That was my favorite! I didn't really need any help with my adverbs... I enjoyed it for purely entertainment and nostalgia reasons. :-)
