Whether you are a senior in high school preparing for college in the fall or will be continuing on with your college education, one this is for sure the first thing you need to deal with is MONEY! Even if you go to a local community college you will find that there are a lot of cost associated with going to school other then just X amount per credit or per term. There is the cost of books, the cost of housing and food, even things like the cost of clothing to wear to class and gas to get there are all items you need to factor in to you total college cost. There are even little things like paper and pens and printer ink for papers. All of these cost may have you looking for more ways to come up with all the money you need. You may get financial aid, you can get student loans but while you are looking for money dont forget scholarships.

There is a fabulous research site filled with scholarship opportunities of all sorts. Search by category, deadline or name to find any number of opportunities for you to find the money you need to pay for not just some of your educational expenses but all of it.

Bottom line this spring while planning for college dont forget to look at places that will give you free money outside of your schools financial aid department too!

Guest post written by Karen Bailey

I’m always finding little things on sale that I know are prefect for entertaining. I think that a lot of the things I buy my husband hates because he thinks that I’m never going to use any of them. I went to a party at my friend’s house a few weeks ago and saw where she had theses awesome lacquer trays that she used to serve a lot of the stuff and knew I needed to get some of those for my entertaining.

I have some cheap little trays that have patterns on them that have to do with the holidays and they just aren’t very sturdy. But the ones that I was looking for are heavy duty and perfect for stuff like that. I’ve been comparison shopping trays for a while and when I was looking up some of them a few nights ago I ran across an ad for Window replacement and after I read it some I decided to use the company to replace our home’s windows. It’s something that’s been on my list to do for the past few months.

I’m in love with this one colorful lacquer tray and think that I’m actually going to buy them in a few different colors to coordinate with holiday entertainment.

Did you know that of the top 1% of wage earners according US News nearly 5% of these studied Finance in college. Many experts would agree that no matter what industry you are in, an understanding of finance and how money works is one of the most important skills you can have. Apparently the financial successes of those who have studied this field are proof this is true. These days looking for a school that offers an online finance degree is definitely a good start.

Even if you do decide to study finance for your undergraduate work that may not be your ultimate goal. Hospitals will always be around and doctors will always be needed but these days many people prefer a Nurse Practitioner and if a higher level of medical caring is what you are looking for then you can find the best online msn programs and school with a variety of outcomes which also include hospital nursing staff supervision and well as nurse anesthetist. An Masters Degree in Nursing may be just what the doctor ordered

NO matter what level of education you elect is best for you one of the growing, and perhaps most needed, fields of study is the six sigma training online certifications. You can learn the strategies all businesses need to discover and create a repair solution for the areas a company is failing in. All employers need individuals who have the critical skills to help them learn and grow from where they are to where they can be.

No matter which level you are looking for, which direction you take remember that the schools are available online and ready to help you become the person you want to be and achieve the employment success you are looking for; Don’t wish and wait – act now!

People without a college degree have a much harder time finding work, according to data provided by the U.S. Department of Labor. Even in economic good times the difference between a lifetime working with a degree and one with just a highs school diploma can be nearly one million dollars. That’s a lot of lost income, and is a sure lot more than what even the priciest four-year universities charge for tuition. The statistics don’t lie: a college education is overwhelmingly worth it. But don’t shrug off college as a luxury of the gifted and affluent and something beyond your meager means of getting. This country needs talented people specifically educated to carry out vital tasks that keep the national economy moving. The government knows it and so do our nation’s educators. They want to do something about it, but they obviously need your help.

Recent student loan reforms the U.S. government made into law last year have done tremendous things for those who beforehand struggled to navigate the complications and cost of student loans. There once was a time when the expense and inaccessibility of student loans legitimately inhibited high school graduates and working adults from seeking higher education. However in 2010 the federal government took control of most of the student loan process, which had previously been operating through dozens of financial institutions despite federal funding being the primary provider of loans. This means interest rates are not only going to be cheaper, they’re going to be more securely put into place.

But excuses for not getting a four year degree begin to really fall apart when you think about all the different avenues in which higher education providers are making to make it easier for people to get a degree. Evening programs have flourished across college campuses in the last decade or so as more and more working professionals are deciding to go back to school. Online colleges and universities, whether technical or even doctoral, are granting unprecedented access to their highly-praised programs. All you need to do is provide the will, as most universities and colleges have provided the way.

The only way to know for sure is to see for yourself. Browse online rankings and compare the multiple programs available to you. Talk to admissions counselors and financial aid advisors who are there to help answer all the questions potential pupils throw at them. Chances are anything you have to ask they’ve already got experience dealing with. The only thing separating you with hundreds of thousands of dollars of extra income you can earn in your lifetime might just be your own inhibitions about the possibility of getting a degree.

Are you interested in furthering your education? Have you been searching for a school online? I have a great informational website, http://www.degreejungle.com/. This link connects you to the top 65 online colleges in the US. A range of degrees to earn associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, decorate degrees, or just continuing education degrees. This website is made to help you find any field that may interest you. Study online through an accredited college for Arts and Religion, Business, Computers and I.T., Education and Teaching, Health and Medicine, Science and Engineering, Social Sciences, or Trades and Careers.

If your looking to attend a top college and want a quality education that can lead you to your next job then this list of best online colleges is the way you want to go. You will enjoy the flexibility of attending online school any where, any time. You can even log in in the middle of the night in your pajamas. You can be on for one, two, three hours or just a few minutes its total FREEDOM. An online school gives a single mother in North Dakota the chance to work, fully care for her child, and attend a college in the south earning a degree from a school that is too far for the average local to attend. With gas prices these days another advantage to online school is there is absolutely no commute.

So now your probably saying yes, yes, that all sounds great but now how do I know which online college is the best for me?? While I have a starting point go to degreejungle and locate the degree finder on the home page, enter your information as to what degree, what category your interested in, and what subject you want to study. This will lead your to the first school to look into;however, before you sign up to that school. There is one more tool for you to look at that will really help. You can see the online college rankings and see how the school you are looking at rates. The ranking is based on things like the average price of attendance, acceptance rate, student to faculty ratio, percentage receiving grants or scholarship aid, percentage receiving federal student loans, retention rate, graduation rate, and the cohort default rate. Degreejungle gives you an advantage so research it carefully, then do another search on another school, and so on until you find a school that not only meets your degree needs but will also meet your other needs as a student.

Good luck with your search and feel free to comment and let us know what you find.

In the uncertain economy we live in today, it’s more important than ever to find a secure, well paying job. It’s also more challenging. Because more applicants than ever apply for the few good jobs available, you have to do everything you can to rise above the throng to land a job. A Bachelor’s Degree is a near necessity, and a Master’s Degree can improve your chances of getting a good job dramatically. But finding the time to get that degree is difficult when you’re working a full-time job, caring for a home and family, and trying to breathe in the process.

That’s where the value of an online Master’s Degree program can truly be seen. Getting a college degree takes time, and for working adults who are returning to school, it’s especially difficult to squeeze in classes. But eLearning opportunities make it much easier to finish college and get your degree or return to school to continue your education. And still maintain your current lifestyle as well.

Online degree programs all you to complete your education and get your degree and still hold down a full-time job, keep the kids fed and bathed, and keep the laundry done. By being able to study online without having to physically go to a college campus for classes, you can much more easily find the time you need to graduate and get that diploma, which will then allow you to get an even better job than you had hoped.

There are a plethora of online degree programs in any number of disciplines to choose from, though of course, a few subjects such as computer science, technological fields and business are especially suited to online learning. But online degree programs exist for even such disciplines as nursing and psychology, especially if you’re going for your Master’s.

You can even take online classes through a local university or college you know. Indiana Wesleyan University, for instance, or South University, offers programs that are ideally suited to adults. Many programs even help you finish your degree more quickly than you would if you were taking traditional on-campus classes. And you never even have to leave the comforts of home.

Online universities offer quality education, just as much as campus programs do. They just do so for those of us who have other responsibilities and commitments, but who still want the opportunities that a college degree offers. Most online schools are as highly respected as any other educational institution. You simply take your classes online via the Internet.

A few years ago the Internet was a limited resource reserved for the elite few with access and the computer technology. It wasn’t until recent advancement in computer technology have educators been able to consider using iPad or a classroom response system as a part of the classroom educational model. There are now many ways to integrate computer technology into your classroom.
Here are reasons why you may consider technology updates:
- Research opportunities
- Class Projects
- Community/Website Building
- Online Assessment
Once you have a reason to use the technology, you have to develop a plan to constructively implement Internet usage. First, consider the cost and availability of the computer technology. If students are expected to share, how will this change lesson plans? There also needs to be knowledge and time objection. Most educators already have an overwhelming amount of material to cover for a student curriculum, but the Internet can be a supplement to this education, if used wisely.
Obviously some parents may voice concern about content available online, such as language, pornography, and subversive information, but most computer-based technology has parental control capabilities to block certain sites.
Integrating Internet technology into the classroom is more than just allowing student’s access to the Internet, it’s an opportunity to deepen and enhance the learning process by equipping students with the technology necessary to function in an unfiltered world. Also, with technology tools and a project-learning approach, students are more likely to be engaged by the content, which will reduce behavioral issues within a classroom.
While students will benefit from the inclusion of Internet technology within the classroom, it will also benefit administration and educators with an interest in different teaching styles for different types of learners, and will help teachers assess student understanding. As technology assumes a large role in daily lives and the classroom, there will be a different level of accessibility to education and an enhancement of the student-teacher relationship.

When the economy has a downturn, community members tend to consider returning to school to take advantage of available jobs in an upswing with advanced credentials. This is a popular trend, especially with non-traditional students, such as moms, victims of the recent layoffs, and older adults, and it is a legitimate way to increase your viability and candidacy for employment. This trend is likely to continue among universities and different types of trades, such as medical, electrical, and massage schools. Cost is always a factor and going back to school has hidden expenses.

Here are a few tips to save on books and other items for returning to school.

BUYING A COMPUTER:

Having a reliable computer will make research and communication easier. With all the selections and computer features on the market, it can be difficult to decide which system will be best for your needs. Before you start browsing models, have an idea of what you need to make the best informed decision. You don’t want to buy a computer that offers software you don’t need, since the software will figure into the final price. The Acer Aspire 5315, Dell Vostro V13, and the Gateway NV5387u are all matched in speed, memory, and software capabilities, which makes them a good choice for students, and are all under $600. All these systems are also designed to perform your basic computing needs, such as Internet browsing, emailing, and word processing. They might not be as high-tech as a new Macbook Pro, but unless you need Mac-based, specialized software, such as Final Cut Pro or Numbers.

BUYING USED BOOKS OR ONLINE:

Books for university courses tend to be expensive. Most universities and state colleges have bookstores on campus that provide you with all the literature and hard material for your classes, but for a huge markup. Although some university bookstores offer used versions of the books, they sell out quickly. Before you purchase from the bookstore, compare prices online. Ebay, Amazon, and BookMooch offer the same product online at a fraction of the cost, and the books are most always used. Make sure that it’s the right edition or translation. Sometimes there are several different formats in which the book is presented.

WORKING WITH WHAT YOU HAVE:

On returning to school, people usually feel the need to go on a shopping spree for school supplies. It’s a huge step to return to school, and you obviously want to be as prepared as possible. However, you don’t want to buy lot of items that you may already have lying around the house. These items can be simple things, such as notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, and other materials. These are smaller items that individually don’t cost much but when added together result in big costs. Consider repurposing the things you have around the house and work with what you already have.

Going back to school is a risk but also an opportunity to find a career path that leads to a higher standard of living. Save where you can, and look into all available channels for scholarships and grants.
